One
Piece:
Character prevails in this
one-of-a-kind style. Starting from a solid block of stone that often
weights more than a ton, each bench is handcrafted one step at a
time. Resulting in the revelation of its own unique personality.
Legs and seat are integrated as one, creating a special piece that
is destined to be passed down through the generations.

St. Paul Courthouse
Kasota Limestone From Kasota, MN:
These benches are made out
of Kasota stone (a dolomite limestone) that was quarried between
1884 and 1888. The stone was used to build the first combined St.
Paul City Hall and Ramsey County Courthouse. It was in use from
1889 through 1933. When the building was demolished the stone was
salvaged and used in several buildings around the Twin Cities. The
balance of the stone sat in a field for nearly 70 years. I was able
to obtain enough material to make a limited number of benches. Many
have architectural features and each one is truly unique.

Skin
These benches are
made from the sawn portion of the outer layer of a large quarried
piece of stone. The unique texture of these benches are created
by drilling channels from the quarrying process. Not only are they
visually appealing but are very comfortable to sit upon.
